The purpose of this site is to communicate the aims, progress and results of the Caldecote Parish Plan development.
A Parish Plan is a document that sets out the aspirations of the community as a whole and will hopefully list a number of concrete actions to be taken over the next few years that will help meet those aspirations. Partly this will be achieved by the Parish Council, but also by local groups. Having a Parish Plan to support positions should help both the Parish Council and other local groups to access local funding and other assistance from local government and other agencies.
So that the Parish Plan will represent the shared vision of the whole community, a Parish Plan Steering Committee has been formed to gather as many views as possible, from open meetings, discussions with local groups, questionnaires and other forms of feedback. The Steering Committee members are volunteers from the community. It is assisted financially by a grant from Cambridge ACRE and is supported by the Parish Council.
The Steering Committee meet occasionally in public to discuss progress and plan actions. We anticipate that the process of developing a plan will take approximately 12 months. Progress will be reported in the Caldecote Journal as well as in blogs and notices posted on this site.
